Munich - TÜV SÜD has been granted accreditation to perform further-reaching wind energy certifications by the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (German Accreditation Office, DAkkS). This now enables the international service provider to offer a comprehensive range of services in the field of wind measurement and potential analysis for planners and investors. TÜV SÜD's accredited wind certification establishes a reliable basis for profitability and feasibility forecasts and for the financing of new wind energy projects.
The DAkkS accreditation has enabled TÜV SÜD to significantly expand its race of wind-energy certification services. The accreditation body confirms that on the basis of EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, TÜV SÜD may now perform wind potential measurements using meteorological instrumentation, determine wind potential and define energy yield, supply verifications of the 60% reference yield required for wind energy projects under the German Renewable Energies Act (EEG), determine natural environmental turbulence and extreme winds and produce shadow flicker and noise calculations.
"This accreditation enables us to continue with the consistent expansion of our service portfolio for wind energy plant planners and investors", states Peter Herbert Meier, head of the Wind Cert Services unit at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH. "Our wind certifications provide a reliable and solid basis for decision-making over the profitability of individual systems or complete wind farms." The accredited certificates are in line with the state of the art and with current standards and directives, and are bankable.
Event: At Husum Wind Energy 2010, TÜV SÜD is holding two talks as part of the trade show's conference programme. On 22 September 2010 Thomas Arnold will speak on "Wind energy in forested areas – tapping new potentials onshore" and Thomas Zirngibl will present "Technical due diligence – a crucial prerequisite for a successful wind farm project" (10.00 to 11.00 am, Room 4). Husum Wind Energy 2010 will be held from 18 to 22 September 2010 in Husum.
