Singapore – TÜV SÜD, one of the world’s leading providers of testing, inspection and certification services, recently announced a donation of EUR 50,000 to the Red Cross in support of restoration efforts following the natural disaster that hit Japan on 11 March. TÜV SÜD initiated a month-long donation drive for employees in the Asia Pacific region in which approximately EUR 25,000 was raised and matched 100% by the Company.
“Our hearts go out to those affected by the devastation and we sincerely hope for a swift recovery. Japan holds a special place for us as the location of one of our first ventures in Asia Pacific. We have great admiration for the Japanese people who have shown strength and resilience in the face of such tragedy,” says Ishan Palit President & CEO of TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific. TÜV SÜD Japan opened its first office in Tokyo in 1993 and now operates 3 offices across Japan in Tokyo, Kansai and Kanagawa.
TÜV SÜD Japan is back in full operation and will continue to operate at 100% level to support clients and businesses with testing and inspection services targeted at addressing concerns that have arisen in the aftermath of the disaster.
